Thwaite Howe is a country house built of local stone in the 1860's. It is situated in it's own attractive grounds of two and a half acres. Thornthwaite Forest provides a stunning backdrop at the rear, and the house stands in an elevated position looking across the Derwent Valley to the magnificant views of Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn.The Dining room and lounge take full advantage of the panorama, being located at the front of the Hotel.
The Hotel is centrally heated throughout, there is an efficient drying room and in inclement weather you will a log fire blazing in the lounge.
