The Allerdale Court Hotel is a listed building of some architectural interest. Dating back to the 17th Century, the most famous mutineer in history, Fletcher Christian, after seeing his crewmates slain by Tahitian natives was said to have escaped on a ship with one Captain Folger and returned to Cockermouth. Rumour has it that he returned to the house that is now The Allerdale Court Hotel.
24 en-suite bedrooms (all with colour T.V., radio, telephone and hospitality tray). Dining at The Allerdale Court is an important part of any guest’s stay and it is not by chance that both of our two restaurants have earned fine reputations both locally and nationally.
